Pirates and cowboys

Once again during a usual shopping trip we all ventured into mothercare, i should have shares in that place and I'm sure i must be responsible for at least 1% of their profits. A good side to mothercare is that there is a ELC toy bit in it which my girls love. As soon as we walk in 2year old and 3year old disappear into a cloud of dust as they run off at different directions leaving me,husband, 17month old and new baby to meander around the clothes section.

We finally joined the other girls in the toy section next to the dressing up part. At the moment dressing up is very entertaining for them and i always liked dressing up as a child . My favourite was a princess costume that i dressed up in once at primary school and my girls are following suite with princesses, fairies, doctors etc. we arrive at the boys dress up section and 3year old grabs a pirate hat and places it on her head:

3year old: argh captain (in pirate accent)

me: argh shipmate what have you there?

3year old: argh a wheelbarrow for my ship

me: a fine specimen i must say

3year old: (peeps from behind a shelf) argh

well I'm laughing my head off at this point she is quite a comedian! Hats change and a fireman helmet is worn, then a police man, builder and finally a cowboy. At this point we've all got the hats on and we resemble a YMCA tribute group.

The girls are having a great time and so are me and the husband but he decides to put on his sunglasses and slides on the cowboy hat on at an angle and says 'howdy maam!' well this far to exciting for me and my knees buckle a bit and wish for one minute we weren't in a elc! A quick exit is needed (before i blush anymore and drag husband off somewhere quiet) so we buy three pirate hats and sail away to the car park, with me contemplating a late night trip back to mothercare to buy the cowboy hat yeehaaaaaaa! 1. Cheeky! My son#1 used to insist on dressing up like daughter#1 when he was younger. Thing is d#1 used to be very girly (not anymore!) and s#1 had quite long hair...occasionally I had to sail forth with little dressed up girly girl and tranvestite s#1 not far behind..he only wears clothes that are superhero/robot related, the phases has passed
