Well here I am toasting the success of my recycling pledge! (clink!)
I did it!
I reused all my bags and I can say it was a great challenge to do, it really made me think about all the bags I use normally. From food shopping to buying birthday presents for the girls to buying things for myself i think i probably saved myself from accumulating about 30plastic bags this week! Imagine if i stuck to this pledge and saved myself the same amount every week for a year, that would mean 1560 less bags in a land fill somewhere.
I think the whole pledge thing has been an excellent experience and I have received a lot of positive comments from shop workers and other people. Also I gained myself a load of nectar points when I went shopping because I reused my bags. It also made my big food shop so much easier to pack and load into the car, less trips backwards and forwards taking them in the house and quicker to put the shopping away. (always a bonus when you have 6little hands trying to eat the shopping before it's in the cupboards!!)
From now on I will always grab my re usable bags before I go out the door, no bags = no shopping and if i forget them I will be carrying my purchases in my arms lol! (I have done that twice this week! but it felt good to keep to my pledge!)
So a big thank you to Karen at the rubbish diet for this whole idea and for changing a little part of me (for the better!!)

Well done Amy! x
Bravo!! Well done on sticking to the pledge and seeing it through, unfortunately i didn't do so well, so i'll be cleaning my oven next week which is not such a bad thing given the state it's in. I feel shamed into taking up another pledge and so i am going to try to follow your lead on the no plastic bag front - i've also been there with the little hands grabbing at the food still in the shopping bags, it made me giggle.
Well done and thank you so much for joining in. On the bag front, if ever you need to recycle your bags when they get to the end of their life, a top tip is to check if your local supermarket takes them AND if they do also check whether they let you recycle other types of polythene bags, e.g. bread bags, frozen vegetable bags and toilet roll wrappers. Often they are made from the same material, so it's always worth a check.
Huge congrats again and thank you for joining in the carnival. I'm really looking forward to putting it up on the web tomorrow.
Well done sweetie! RMxx
Alright already! I'm feeling guilty. I only reuse the plastic grocery bags for trash bags, so I will try to do better. Thanks for the green inspiration!
