So here are a few of my people watching highlights that made me giggle (inside of course) over the past few days:
- Man on his phone trying to buy his wife tampons looking so confused that at one point he had two different flows and brands in his hands and was shaking his head.
- Man buying tights for his wife. When i asked what particular type she was after he looked at me blankly and quickly made a phone call. He looked none the wiser after that call.
- Mother and teenage daughter choosing what condoms to buy. I think they were for the mother as she asked her daughter quite loudly 'which ones should i choose, there are so many' I choked on my polo mint and then fought back the laughter as she asked what products were included in the buy one get one free. (lubrication and condoms) oh the shame!
- Man spending at least 15minutes deciding what nuts to buy. Oh the pressure these men face...... dry roasted or salted.......dry roasted or salted.....
- Older man asking for fruit that you put in a dessert:
Me: erm fresh fruit? Him: yes that's the stuff Me: (Bangs head against shelf)
- Man trying not to look at the 'just for men hair dye' section, when obviously he was, otherwise he was very interested in shaving brushes, very interested.
and last but not least
- Very pregnant lady with clueless looking man choosing what nappies and baby products to get for the impending birth. (we've all been there haven't we!)
Happy people watching :) xxxxxxx
Oh I think I have been there stairing at the condoms too!!
ReplyDeleteHa! Well done for keeping a straight face! I love people watching, could do it for hours on end! x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant post, so funny! I love people watching too x
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked in our local Cost Cutter we used to have some right characters come in.We had one bloke come in with what we thought we're undone trousers and you could see his meat and two veg on display. We reported it and the police were involved. He came back the next day and again he was showing all he had for all to see.Our supervisor took him aside only to discover he had a large tear in his leg and he hadn't noticed.Which was worrying as he was a highway construction worker.
ReplyDeletethemadhouse: lol! its a good offer!
ReplyDeletekate: lol! it is great fun and fascinating at the same time!

Oh I love people watching. My favourite place is a hotel where we go for a massge occasionally. We went their yesterday and I was all set up for a lovely hour of watching and a pot of tea but the lobby was empty! Still, we had a gossip instead :)
ReplyDeleteI adore people watching too. It is such fun. Airports are my favourite, a bit of a snoop in the arrivals lounge is heavenly. All those happy people. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteThat was a hilarious post - thanks for the laughs. I like watching people too but never got any as funny as yours
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Your life sounds very similar to mine. I just had baby #5 last October, only we have 4 boys & 1 girl.I too love to write and recently started a book that im determined to finish by my 30th bday next August. It's nice to see someone else w/ a BIG family, it definitely comes w/ it's challenges but it's worth it! Good luck with the new baby!
ReplyDeleteAmy I have just got in from work after quite a full on day, and that post made me chuckle!Just what I needed x
ReplyDeleteSeriously? A mother and daughter? I'm so naive, I'm surely not meant for this world...
ReplyDeletekelly: ooh that sounded lovely! shame about the lack of people to watch but i'm sure the relaxation and gossip made up for it x
ReplyDeletebrit in bosnia: the airport is people watching heaven and train stations too :)
kestrel: I'm glad it tickled your funny bone i always aim to please xx
larissa: thanks hun its nice to see someone else whos as crazy as me to have a big family, i will look forward to getting to know you better :)

the women who can: lol! i would have never gone out to buy condoms with my mum especially if they were for her!!
That made me laugh. Especially the mum and daughter - classic!!
ReplyDeleteTo this day (I'm 24 now) I can't buy condoms on their own. Just like with toilet paper, I have to find at least 2 other things to purchase at the same time, or I can't look anyone in the eye until I get home.
ReplyDeleteWhere the heck do you work? I want to work there, too!!
ReplyDeleteThat's fab - I must be more careful when I dither over my nut selection !
ReplyDeleteworking mum: it was too funny for words even i blushed at one point when talking about the lubrication!
ReplyDeletestanleygoodspeed: lol! i agree, even i would try to hide mine im my shopping when i used to buy them. But they were always seen by the checkout person followed by a wink or other 'so your getting lucky tonight' glance.
met mum: lol now that would be telling! i couldn't have you stealing all my fun now could i? xx
muddling along mummy: lol trust me you could never dither as much as some of the men that take forever to choose 'tonights nut selection'it must be their highlight of the week!!

ReplyDeleteanonymous: no unfortunately i don't work in Boots but i bet the people watching there is second to none!!
